English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the 2025 Young Athlete of the Year award.

The trio have been recognised for their exceptional achievements over the last year.

Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a unprecedented innings.

Littler won the award in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The finalists were unveiled on a popular morning radio program.

The 2025 recipient will be revealed live on the Sports Personality of the Year show on the 18th of December.

The event will be broadcast from seven in the evening GMT.

Agyemang's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Football

A mere three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to European Championship victory.

She was introduced as a substitute to score key tying goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the top young European talent.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"To be named a finalist for this award is an honour," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

The year started for Littler in spectacular fashion as - at just 17 years old - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.

He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.

And he wasn't finished there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the very first time.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, smashing the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for this award again is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a proud moment for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."

Davina Perrin

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and burst into the spotlight with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.

It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin finished second in the season's run tally and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.

"I'm truly honoured to be nominated for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it encourages more girls to get into cricket."
