The Ideal Pokémon Tales: Z-A Super Form According to Your Astrological Sign
This comeback of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked immense enthusiasm across the fandom. Starting with the gradual unveiling of newcomers ahead of the game's launch, to trainers forming strong opinions on the full roster of new Megas, there's a lot for fans to look forward to.
With many of the Super Forms showcasing unique designs that highlight their traits, one thought came to mind: How can connect this with zodiac signs? This list is inspired by a mix of vibes, sign stereotypes, and personal experience.
Aries – Mega Camerupt
Honestly, Houndoom was nearly chosen for Aries, as they are the Super Form and astrological sign that evoke the most fear. But, a Super Houndoom comes across as always angry, which isn't typical of the Aries vibe, renowned for being fun, cheerful, and spontaneous. This makes the Ram much more similar to Super Camerupt, which only spews lava when angered. Remain on the friendly side of either and benefit from a strong partner; if you cross them, prepare to get burned.
The Bull – Mega Heracross
Similar to a loyal Taurus, the reliable Heracross species, both in its regular and Mega form, has aided many trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though trustworthy, each the Pokémon and a Bull are also Fighting types, and – whether it's their trainer or a firm belief – will stand up for their side to the end. The thing about Super Heracross that reminds me most of my Taurus friends, though, is its unashamed love of treats. Many previous Pokédex entries mention their craving for tasty tree sap and how it employs its appendage to collect it everything, which is true Bull-sign vibe.
Gemini – Mega Medicham
Look at this absolute royalty. It's impossible to tell me this Pokémon is not the life of any gathering, providing an endless stream of gossip to those who wants to hear. Much like an enrapturing, gregarious Twins, it's very simple to envision Mega Medicham captivating an whole open area with their stories. Medicham’s Pokédex entry also states its ability to foresee an opponent's future actions, which sounds very like a people-smart Twins.
The Crab – Mega Manectric
The Crab is commonly considered as the most emotional sign of the astrological wheel, a intense symbol known for often getting wrapped up in their emotions. According to the Pokédex, Mega Evolution charges the creature with a “tremendous quantity of energy, but it's too much for this Pokémon to fully manage,” which sounds a lot like a typical Crab emotional outburst. This Pokémon is also recognized for its capability to make a storm cloud over its very head – and if there’s one thing a Cancer is likely to do, it’s rain on their own parade.
The Lion – Mega Starmie
Oh, did you assume I was planning to pick the lion Pokémon for the king of the zodiac? Aside from the reality that it would be much too obvious, The Lion is clearly Super Starmie, the diva whose gams just became an internet sensation for being extremely glamorous (or terrifying, depending on your taste). Fans couldn’t look away from the violet sea star, and that’s exactly the same vibe a Lion brings to the scene. This Pokémon is also said to be transmitting radio waves from its center out into space, and it’s typical of a Leo to be staging a performance, even if for extraterrestrials.
The Maiden – Super Victreebel
The always-ready and perpetually-anxious Virgo is perfectly encapsulated in Super Victreebel, the Mega with perpetual acid reflux. The zodiac symbol known for being charmingly critical is clearly mirrored across this Pokémon’s whole lineage, from a perpetually shocked face like a Maiden when you tell them you lack a retirement plan, to its upside-down face that’s just like the emoji a Maiden posts to the chatroom when all says they want to “go with the flow” instead of creating a plan.
Libra – Super Audino
Look at this gentle, empathetic creature, who employs the feelers on its ears to detect how others are feeling by their pulse. Consistently empathetic – occasionally to a detriment – and trying to keep the harmony, there are many Scales who would probably benefit from Super Audino's abilities. Though, let’s be honest, it would likely just cause them to stress more about everyone else.
Scorpio – Mega Banette
This Ghost-type is a Pokémon with a surprisingly sad origin: Discarded as a doll, it became sentient through sheer resentment and vowed revenge on its former owner. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution, “increases its spitefulness.” That seems exactly like several conversations I’ve had with my scary Scorpio acquaintances. A Scorpion adores karma and comeuppance, making them the perfect pair with Super Banette.
Sagittarius – Super Hawlucha
Both Super Hawlucha and Sagittarians are constantly putting on a performance. As a Archer myself, the number of occasions I’ve called myself some variation of a “playful little entertainer” is innumerable. The most flamboyant and most attention-seeking Mega Evolution, its description even notes how it “poses to show off its power.” I would do the very same thing if I had a Super Form, making Mega Hawlucha the most fitting Sagittarius counterpart I can imagine.
The Goat – Super Absol
Did you know that a Mega Absol has the ability to predict calamities ahead of time? That exudes the exact same energy as a Capricorn, who often consistently believe they’re correct. Interestingly, much like a visionary Mega Absol, they often are. It’s also the very first Mega Evolution that trainers encounter in Legends: Z-A – just like a Goat to get in on the beginning of the Super Form craze.
The Water Bearer – Super Chandelure
Aloof air sign Water Bearer is possibly the non-fire sign that is most like a fire sign – its sister sign is the Lion, and there are numerous memes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being unpredictable accomplices. Mega Chandelure’s dual Ghost/Fire category fits perfectly with this, and the Mega’s general daunting presence is also very Water Bearer. If you hadn't yet persuaded, the Super Form's Pokédex entry says it “draws in negative energy and converts it into strength.” If that doesn’t perfectly {encaps
