Fresh particulars have surfaced concerning the untimely deaths of acclaimed filmmaker Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were found at their Los Angeles home property on Sunday.

A Discovery

As detailed in an account citing a confidential source, a therapist arriving for an appointment first raised the alarm after being unable to gain access the house. The practitioner then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives nearby.

When she went into the home, Romy found her father's body. It is said she then left the home distraught, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. A companion who had accompanied her then dialed 911. Subsequently, emergency responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Charges

Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of premeditated murder, including the use of a dangerous weapon, said to be a knife. He is currently in custody and denied bail.

Clarifications

The person close to the family challenged several initial details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a guesthouse on the property, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that moment.

Additionally pushed back against widely reported claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "concerned" about Nick's behavior in recent weeks. Instead the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This refutation includes accounts of alleged "erratic" conduct by Nick at a gathering hosted by Conan O'Brien on the night before the discovery. Although the source noted they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they maintained that suggestions of a "major confrontation" between the two were not correct.

Investigation Details

As stated by law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had yet to determine at that point whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Some media reports noted the state of their bodies pointed to they had been deceased for some hours.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, about 15 miles from the family home. He was set to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, said his client had a medical issue and would be unable to attend until Wednesday at the earliest.
